Virginia Numismatic Association

The Virginia Numismatic Association (VNA) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to the educating, encouraging and promoting interest in numismatics. Founded in 1959, the VNA has a membership of over 350 individual members and member institutions with sixteen (16) member clubs.

• VNA publishes a quarterly journal, The Virginia Numismatist, which contains interesting articles, member club information, and coin show schedules.
• VNA hosts the annual, three-day, VNA Convention, Coin, and Currency Show here in Fredericksburg. Many of you have volunteered in support of this great show!
• Annual memberships are only $12 to receive The Virginia Numismatist electronically or $18 to receive both the electronic and printed versions. Life memberships are available for $180.

American Numismatic Association

The American Numismatic Association (ANA) is the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to coin collecting and the study of money. • American Numismatic Society (ANS): A New York City-based organization dedicated to the study of coins, money, medals, tokens, and related objects. Founded in 1858, its collection encompasses nearly one million items, including medals and paper money, as well as the world’s most comprehensive library of numismatic literature. There are about 20 Coin Clubs in Virginia. These are the ones most easily accessible to us here in Fredericksburg.
